The counseling center at Second Presbyterian Church is a division of the Pastoral Counseling and Care Ministries (PCCM).

PCCM is a privately held not-for-profit corporation which strives to facilitate the growth, wellness and recovery of individuals, couples, families and systems; and to develop strong and vital covenant relationships with local congregations and religious organizations.

Our Pastoral Counselor, Cecilia H. Amaral, MS, AAPC, has been in clinical practice for 19 years. She is Executive Director of Pastoral Counseling and Care Ministries and is currently serving on the Clinical staff of PCCM at Second Presbyterian Church. Cecilia provides psychotherapy to adults and couples dealing with mood disorders, life transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss. Cecilia continues to participate in the ongoing development/formation of the inter- denominational community. Her interest and professional experience include spiritual direction, retreat facilitation, design and presentation of seminars and workshops, as well as teaching in both academic and catechetical venues. Our Counseling Center Offers:

Pastoral Counseling for those seeking mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being; healing in relationship; couple or family counseling; relief from debilitating anxiety or depression; adjustment to major life changes and transitions such as divorce, death, chronic illness, or a career change; improvement in family, school, work, or social relationships; professional counseling which can incorporate your spiritual experiences and religious beliefs.

Our commitment is to an inclusive ministry which welcomes and affirms all persons.

Our professional services include psychotherapy for those in need of individual, relational, and family treatment; consultative, supervisory, and supportive services for clergy and lay professionals; congregational, corporate, and business consultation and training; group therapy and group retreats; workshops on a variety of topics; spiritual direction.
