Labyrinth Memorial GardenSecond Presbyterian Church, in its continuing ministry to its members and the community, has constructed an outdoor labyrinth surrounded by a columbarium, the Labyrinth Memorial Garden. The labyrinth invites you to walk meditatively on a personal, spiritual journey. Its purposeful winding is a metaphor for the twists and turns of our journey through life. Its pattern encourages healing, clarity, and insight, soothing of the soul, quieting of the mind or mending of the heart. In October we will devote two Adult Seminars to the history and use of the labyrinth. From the earliest Christian time, there has been a cherished Church tradition of burying the dead in the churchyard. The Labyrinth Memorial Garden accommodates that tradition and the growing practice of cremation by providing members and their families a final resting place. Each niche will accommodate the remains of two persons. If you are interested in receiving more details, please call the church office or any member of the Labyrinth Memorial Garden committee. When and where can I walk the labyrinth?Join us most Wednesdays between 4 and 8p.m. for meditation and reflection while walking Second's labyrinth in Smith Hall. Other area labyrinth locations include: Johns Hopkins Bay View Govans Presbyterian Church St. Anthony's Rectory Bon Secours Spiritual Center
